Quilts

Lately all I want to make are quilts.

I've made two for my bedroom and a kids quilt from the scraps. There's another cot sized quilt in the making but I'm dreaming of yet another queen-sized quilt for my bed. I love the whole process- buying the fabrics, planning the pattern, cutting the fabric, piecing and then sending it off to be quilted- avoiding basting and quilting is the best.

Before & After

I'm just dropping in to share a Design*Sponge inspired before & after with you. My sister Jacqui and I have just reupholstered a child sized chair (only 60cm high) for our niece Layla.

Layla has just turned two and loves to 'read' so we thought an armchair would be an appropriate birthday present and a perfect fit in her library. I bought the chair on eBay and googled upholstering techniques. The scariest part was getting started and picking all those old staples out of the frame. Having said that, it was definitely worth it and I think we achieved a lovely result. Here it is...

Just for now

You may have noticed that I have stopped blogging for the moment! I hope to resume blogging sometime soon but am taking a break to focus on some of my other interests. I've radically culled my past posts and will give this blog a make over once I've returned. I have a good feeling about 2012!

In the meantime I will be blogging here - the Baby Shnookies blog, dedicated to my mother's knitted creations.

Shop update: There are three lovely tote bags at Bundarra Totes and one lonely (but equally lovely) clutch bag for sale at MS Handbags.

See you soon!
